Four from RUMI

These beautiful timeless pieces speak for themselves.

Before you speak,
let your words pass through three gates.
At the first gate, ask yourself:
Is it True?
At the second ask:
Is it necessary?
At the third gate ask:
Is it kind?

“Christian, Jew, Muslim, shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river,
each has a secret way of being with the mystery,
unique and not to be judged.”
~RUMI

The minute I heard my first love story
I started looking for you, not knowing
how blind I was.

Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere.
They’re in each other all along.

~~~~~~~
What was in that candle’s light
that opened and consumed me so quickly?
Come back, my friend! The form of our love
is not a created form.
Nothing can help me but that beauty.
There was a dawn I remember
when my soul heard something
from your soul. I drank water
from your spring and felt
the current take me.
Love
Thanks for stopping by. The following came to us and we had to share it. Please enjoy and share.
Love defies all economic principles
The supply is vast and so is the demand.
The sources of love are infinite and yet it remains the most valuable thing we can possess.
Those who give more love,
get more.
Does this make sense? Of course not.
It’s Magic.
From Corelli’s Mandolin
The following paragraph, from Corelli’s Mandolin, is extremely popular as a reading during many of our wedding ceremonies.
Corelli’s Mandolin, is a novel written in  1994,by the British writer Louis de Bernieres. The novel is set on the Greek island of Cephalonia during the Italian and German occupation of World War II. The author, writes in the words Captain Corelli, the main character,  the following beautiful essay about love.  We love the reading and feel the reading provides us with a wonderful image of love, growth, journey, being in love and relationship. May everyone know this experience of love at least once in their lives.
“Love is a temporary madness, it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part, because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of eternal passion. That is just being “in love” which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love, have roots that grow towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two. ”
